Gubbins

Kat composed, arranged and produced the score for Gubbins by indie game studio Studio Folly. Bringing together Melbourne’s best jazz and classical musicians, the music was recorded at Rolling Stock Recording Studio in August 2021.

After it’s global release, the music was included in Pitchfork’s Best Indie Video Game Score of 2023 list.

Gubbins is a friendly puzzle game where you place tiles to construct words, with the help and hindrance from weird little pals called Gubbins. Minimalist typography alongside mischievous cartoons serve as a kooky canvas for moreish wordplay. It’s essentially Solitaire meets Scrabble with hilarious friends wreaking havoc.
